Embracing the Future: Top Kitchen Design Trends for 2024

A look ahead to all that is exciting and on trend for the coming year!

Want to do something special with your kitchen, but not sure how to pick out your new look? Don’t worry: you’re not alone! Some people are lucky enough to have a very clear vision of what they want from their kitchen, and how to make it happen, right from the beginning. However, for most of us, designing a new look for the most important room in our house is a journey that will take many
different twists and turns and we discover a variety of styles that inspire us.

We absolutely love to guide our customers on that journey as much as we can, which is why it is so exciting at this time of year to explore all the different kitchen design trends which we expect to be popular in 2024 and beyond. We hope you will find it as inspiring as we do!

Here are what will most dominate the kitchen design scene next year:

Blending form and function

More and more, homeowners are looking for ways to create a space that not only looks great but also functions efficiently and effectively. It has to be safe and practical to cook in, of course, but it’s more than that. We’re using our kitchens for a lot of different purposes these days, from social hubs through to ad hoc work spaces, and we need our designs to reflect that.

The first way to do this is to make sure that all your worktops are not only beautiful, but durable and easy to maintain, too. Our overlay worktops, for example, are stain-,-scratch, -impact, and-heat resistant, as well as coming with built in Microban® anti-microbial protection, to ensure they can handle all the extra work you’re throwing at them.

The second is to make sure you space is adaptable, well-organised, and easy to keep clutter-free, and that is all about storage. Making the most of your cupboard space can help even the smallest kitchens take on multiple roles, as well as being easier to use for their primary purpose.

Embracing nature

Bring a little bit of the beauty of the great outdoors into your home has been trending for a couple of years now, but looks to be a huge deal for 2024. More and more homeowners are making clever use of colours and materials to create a look which is more in harmony with nature, whether they are in the countryside or not.

For example, those with more traditional kitchens are embracing rustic designs such as use of greens and browns in their colour schemes, and more natural looking options such as Shaker style replacement kitchen doors. For people with more modern, contemporary kitchens, brighter colour combos such as blues and light greens paired with clean lines, and tasteful glass mosaics, can be veryeffective in evoking summer days spent outside.

Going green

Alongside that renewed love for nature, is a greater desire to protect it, of course. Looking at how what we do impacts the environment is a normal part of many every-day decisions now, and kitchen design is no different. This is a trend which has been growing for years, of course, but we fully expect it to take centre stage more than ever in 2024.

Fortunately, going green hasn’t meant compromising on luxury and beauty for years now, especially if you choose to work with Granite & TREND Transformations. With our range of worktops made from up to 72% recycled materials, and our whole philosophy of reducing waste, making over rather
than starting over, you really can enjoy the best of both worlds and create a new kitchen which is both beautiful and sustainable.

Eye-catching features

Along with a move toward bolder, statement colours is a desire to add more striking features to their space. For example, splashbacks and upstands are becoming more than just practical additions as homeowners experiment with making them art pieces in their own right. Pairing different colours which complement their worktops, or using glass mosaic tiles to create something truly
unique, is just one of the ways people will be embracing their creative side in the kitchens of 2024.

Of course, we don’t just wait for new trends to come along here at Granite and TREND Transformations, but do all we can to help create them, too! Which is why you can look forward to some amazing new products from us later in the year, not to mention the next edition of our popular style guide to help you on your design journey. In the meantime, you can always get in touch with your local showroom to learn more about how you can use the latest trends to create
that new look kitchen you’ve always dreamed about.

On behalf of everyone here at Granite and TREND Transformation, we hope you have a wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year!
