The average cost of a UK kitchen

It’s not a simple task to find out the cost of the average kitchen – but according to the 2018 Kitchen Trends report from Houzz, the average budget and spend for kitchen renovations in UK homes is between £10,001 and £25,000.  With 22% of homeowners spending between £25,000 – £50,000 and 10% spending over a whopping £50,000!

The average time to fit a UK kitchen?

Well, this is even more tricky to nail down. Taking to the trusty Google search will reveal a number of reports showcasing anything from six days to six weeks to sixteen weeks! All dependent upon the scale of the project.

For any readers that have had their kitchen refurbished and have had to wash their dishes in the bath – even six days of disruption becomes seriously painful. And the reality is, most refurbishments tend to go on much longer than six days, due to weather, work force issues and a whole number of other eventualities.

Of course, as cited above, these are approximates based on averages taken from a large sample of customer makeovers. The individual actual cost will depend on the complexity of the project the size of your kitchen and the materials you choose – (and your consultant will tailor your proposal specifically for your needs), but at least the average costs and timings give you an idea to start from.
